Chinese Panchen Lama Propaganda

December 19, 2008

I was going to write a lengthy comment here about the video below, but I am working on right speech today…

Sorry, so much for right speech practice. I started commenting on the video and received immediate responses. A slight argument ensued…

this is not the real Panchem Lama. Ask the Chinese Government where they are keeping the real one!

Don’t make ignorant comment if you don’t know our Tibetan tradition. The Panchan Lama must be chosen from 3 candidates using a raffle system in front of representatives from the central government, and NOT hand picked by Dalai Lama from overseas. And he must then receive the seal of approval from the government, granting him the power to rule.

You’re telling me that Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, who is recognized by those within the Tibetan community as the reincarnate of the 10th Panchem Lama, is not legitimate? The history of reincarnated “buddhas” has never been done by a “raffle system” that must be approved by the government of China. That was only instituted by the Chinese after they invaded Tibet. Stop believing the stuff your government feeds you. Investigate & question everything, that is what the Buddha says. Find your own freedom!

This has clearly shown your lack of knowledge of history of Tibet. Tibet had no army for a long time, and was invaded by Nepal. The Tibetans asked for help from the emperor, who sent the army and defeated Nepal and restored Tibet. Afterwards the emperor set up two systems: the first is to allow Tibetans raise an army to protect Tibet, the second is to use a raffle system to (let god) pick the true Panchan Lama and Dalai Lama from 3 candidates. This is the age old tradition.

Stop deflecting the fact that China has kidnapped Gedhun Choekyi Nyima when the boy was six because he was chosen by the Tibetans as the reincarnated Panchem Lama. Tibet didn’t need an army, they are peaceful Buddhists, not imperialists hell bent on control. And there are no “gods” in Buddhism, so maybe you need to do some research as well.

God=Buddha. I am only speaking in a language that you white people can understand. Tibet of course used to have a very powerful army for thousands of years until before the Yuan dynasty. For many years there was peace until the invasion of Nepal, and prompted the emperor to look into the defense of Tibet. Go and ask your beloved Dalai Lama and he will not disagree with me.

I don’t follow the Dalai Lama, so stop assuming you know anything about me. And secondly, I have yet to throw any insults your way, so saying things like “you white people” doesn’t help your end of the argument, it only shows the true ignorance in this conversation. Where is Gedhun Choekyi Nyima?

It’s none of your business. Go an worry about your US economy and that is your business.

I have already weighed in on my concerns with the economy, that is why we are getting a new president. How come you are not allowed to vote for a leader you choose? Oh wait, you are in a Communist controlled country that doesn’t allow the people’s voices to be heard. Stop standing by, speak up or continue to be controlled!

Drawing the Panchan Lama and Dalai Lama from a raffle is a ceremony not unlike the election of US president. The US president is not appointed, it has to follow the election process under the US constitution. Same as our Tibetan leaders, our leader must go through the selection ceremony or else his is not our leader.

Actually there are various tests that are given to a reincarnated Buddha by high ranking Lama’s, and then are verified potentially by Oracles and the like. Only since China took ruthless control did a “raffle” system become instituted. Think for yourself will you! Seriously, I am astonished at how quickly you retort with the same answers, just re-written to follow the propaganda you’ve been force fed.
