As the New Year is being celebrated today, and has already begun in certain parts of the world, I wish you all a happy and healthy 2008! It is my wish and hope that all conflicts, including and not exclusive to Burma, Tibet, Iraq, Darfur, Thailand and Pakistan, not only be resolved but in such a manner that ends the suffering of all beings involved.
It is also my wish to continue to pursue the path of liberation to free all sentient beings from suffering.
Recently I thanked you, the readers, for all the support you’ve given this meager blog and I just want to say it one more time, THANK YOU! I appreciate all your comments and discussions that have started here. I hope to continue providing valuable articles to help raise awareness of issues as well as provide inspiration that is not so readily available in the mass media circus.
My only request to you this year would be to find an issue you feel passionate about and take it to the next level. Rather than talking about it (which is great in and of itself) write a letter to government officials letting them know how you feel. I for one, intend to really ramp up the pressure on the IOC to bring to light the human rights abuses still taking place in Tibet and around China, in the face of this years Beijing Olympics. So don’t be surprised to see alot of articles supporting that cause, I feel that the Tibet issue has really been swept under the rug, not that other issues aren’t as important, but it seems like noone really wants to address the real sufffering the people of Tibet have been dealing with.
So, in closing here folks, again thank you. I am humbled that you choose this blog to peruse articles and engage in discussion. And I hope you will continue to drop by in the coming year.
May all sentient beings be filled with love and happiness,
May they and I become the rice of life to feed the hungry,
May they and I become the medicine to heal the wounded,
May they and I become the compassion the destitute seek,
May they and I become the light in a world plagued by darkness.

Hey Kiddo! :)
Did you find the “Dharma For Kids” links on the sidebar? In the videos section (up top) is a neat animated jataka tale to Xena… Alex has been asking for you, he’s dying for someone to play with. He can’t wait for Thursday!
